Game Plan.

Were you among the 4.17 million Aussies that were glued to The Matilda's game on Saturday night?  I know I was.  I’m not a big soccer fan, but that was something special.

Going into the game, it’s unlikely that head coach Tony Gustavsson or the team planned to end in a penalty shootout.  I’m no soccer expert, but I reckon the plan would have been to shoot a goal or two in the first hour of main play while stopping the French from scoring.

But as we know, things don’t always go to plan.

A game plan isn’t rigid and set in stone.  It can’t be.  We don’t yet know how the game will unfold.  A game plan must adapt to the circumstances arising on the field.

You can guess where I might be headed with this.

A game plan for a soccer game, or any other sport, is a bit like having an intention before you start a new custom build or major reno project.  Your intention can’t be rigid and set in stone.  You don’t yet know how the process will unfold.  Your build game plan must adapt to circumstances and discoveries arising.

Adapting and being open to changing your game plan gives you the best chance of winning.

We might not get to the next round when we hold on too tightly to an intent or game plan that isn’t working.

Making a game plan and being able and willing to adapt is called ‘Growth Project Mindset’ in Home Build Mentoring.  And it’s a game-changer.

P.S.  One of my Home Build Mentoring clients learnt early that their intention for a new custom home with their preferred builder would cost far more than their expectation or capability.  We were able to re-write their ‘build’ game plan to connect them with the right team to realise their adapted vision for a more feasible investment.

When building a new custom home or undertaking a reno there is a lot to be across, and you aren’t meant to have all the answers when it isn’t your area of expertise- So let me give you a hand.  Book a free Discovery-20’ call.  I’d love to hear about your project!
